Letrari is history, it is territory, it is wine culture handed down from generation to generation. We put all our experience into every bottle to offer great quality both in the sparkling wines and in our classic wines.
V Variety and typicality
The Letrari agricultural company, with its 12 hectares of vineyards located in various locations in Vallagarina, has its headquarters in the modern and functional cellar of Rovereto, faithful in appearance to the rural architecture of Trentino and surrounded by a vast garden of Mediterranean species. It is open to visitors all year round and offers tourists the opportunity to learn the secrets of the winemaking art by retracing the stages of transformation of grapes into wine. It can accommodate, upon reservation, guided group tours with the possibility of tasting, lunch and visits to the vineyards.
L Lovers of good drinking
Letrari is a family that has its roots in the very history of Trentino wine. Already active in 1647 in Borghetto d'Avio, on the banks of the Adige river, first as river raftsmen, then traders and then as shrewd agricultural innovators, they reached their peak with Leonello Letrari. Immediately on the wine scene of good drinking, it is thanks to him that in the immediate post-war period the wines of the Dolomites acquired character and prestige beyond regional borders.
It is always him who "creates" the first blends and in the 1960s he began to develop fine sparkling wines. He then founded the current family company in 1976 - together with his wife Maria Vittoria.
Emilio Letrari
He returns from his personal "odyssey", lived fighting with the uniform of the Tyrolean Kaiserjäger in the trenches of Galicia and then as a prisoner of war in the remote Siberian lands, to dedicate himself to his small farm and form a family with his beloved Pierina soon cheered by the birth by Leonello Letrari in 1931.
Leonello Letrari
Graduated as an oenologist from the Edmund Mach Institute of San Michele a/A, he began his brilliant career, which in 1961 saw him create one of the first Italian Bordeaux blends and in 1963 pioneer the Trentino Metodo Classico with the Equipe5 brand.
The first label
The entrepreneurial experience of Leonello and Maria Vittoria began and, united in life and work, they created the current family winery.
Lucia Letrari
She obtained a diploma as an oenologist from the Edmund Mach Foundation and immediately began collaborating with her father, encouraged by him to carry on his personal vision of Trentino and Trentodoc. In these years, the first Trentodoc cuvèe under the Letrari brand was born, along with the idea of creating a "selection" from Marzemino grapes to enhance small quality batches.
Lucia and Leonello
Together they create the Ballistarius red, the perfect synthesis of the father's long professional experience and Lucia's far-sighted vision of combining international vines and native local grapes.
Realization of a dream
Construction of the new cellar and transfer from the historic site to the more functional and modern structure in Rovereto, set in a small vineyard that belonged to the maternal grandfather.
A look between past and future
Year in which father Leonello leaves us and the baton passes to Lucia, now supported by her daughter Margherita, for a future yet to be written.

Tradition and innovation are the creed of our company, constantly applied with modern agronomic practices, with the work and dedication of the new generations. The same passion of Leonello today animates the commitment of his daughter Lucia (a winemaker like her father), who is entrusted with the major responsibilities of the company.
