Philosophy

Since the foundation, all our commitment has been profuse in order to offer high quality products to our admirers and to transfer them the “terroir” and our personal philosophy on the art of making wine.

Our wines come from grapes grown in vineyards on land located in the most suitable areas of Vallagarina and Terra dei Forti.

Among the red wines we spend special attention to the native varieties, like the gentle and fruity Marzemino, the fuller Teroldego, the sapid Lagrein, that is also vinified as a Rosè, and, last but not least, the spicy Enantio.

Since Leonello was among the first oenologist that take up the challenge of producing a Bordeaux-type blend wine in Italy, the Cabernet Franc, the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Merlot play an obviously role in our production: a classic of our wine cellar is in fact the Maso Lodron, from which tradition was born in 1997 the innovative Ballistarius, an original cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Lagrein.

The range of our products includes also finest white wines, such as the tradional Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco and Pinot Grigio, and the more aromatic varieties like Müller Thurgau, Traminer, Sauvignon, Manzoni bianco and Moscato giallo.

The products exemplifying the crativity of Lucia Letrari are instead the white Fossa Bandita, a blend of different Pinots and Manzoni, the elegant Aès, a copper coloured Pinot Grigio of great aromatic intensity and the new release “La Civetta”, white and red, intriguing blends to be enjoyed in simplicity.

Moreover, who knows well our cellar appreciates the aristocratic Moscato Rosa, as well as the”Dulce Vitae”, a late harvest of selected white grapes.

A selected production of classic Letrari sparkling wines, like Brut, Dosaggio Zero, Brut Rosè, Brut Riserva and 976 Riserva del Fondatore, all rigorously obtained from Chardonnay and Pinot Nero grapes and processed with the traditional method of bottle refermentation (“Metodo Classico”), according to the specific dictates of the production disciplinary of TrentoDOC, completes the range.

Each bottle of Talento TRENTODOC Letrari is indeed the perfect synthesis, the sweet harmony, of a series of important elements that contribute to the maximum final result.

Our Chardonnay and Pinot Nero, coming from the most highly suited areas of the Vallagariana, are still harvested by hand and reach the winery in Rovereto in the short span of few hours, to be immediately taken to the gentle pressing and to the first controlled temperature fermentation in steel.

The best selected yeasts are used, along with first choice cane sugar, to create the magic of the bottle refermentation according to the traditional method.

At least 24 months of aging on the lees are needed to create the inimitable fragrance of our Brut, Zero Dosage and Brut Rosè.
But for the poetry of Brut Riserva we must wait at least 48 months.
976 - Riserva del Fondatore, born, however, only in the best vintages, from Chardonnay and Pinot Nero excellent grapes, vinified with care to create a very special TrentoDOC, that is left to "rest" on the lees for not less than 96 months.
Uncorking a bottle of TrentoDOC Letrari is a moment of real magic, toasting with this great wine gives moments of pure poetry for the senses, delighted by the elegance of the golden color, the perlage fineness, the full and fruity taste (intense and rich of feelings of dried fruit and spices in the reserves).
